Training Requirements

As a volunteer, you will receive specific training for the work you perform. Training requirements for each volunteer position are as follows:

One-time event community volunteer	1-hour Hospice of Michigan 101 training
Community outreach volunteer only	5-hour basic Hospice of Michigan volunteer training	Plus site-specific training
Administrative/clerical volunteer only	5-hour basic Hospice of Michigan volunteer training	Plus site-specific training
Junior volunteer/non-patient care activities	5-hour basic Hospice of Michigan volunteer training	Plus site-specific training
Patient services volunteer (adult or junior)	6-hour basic Hospice of Michigan volunteer training	Shadowing opportunities AFTER the 6 hours of training
Grief support volunteer	6-hour basic Hospice of Michigan volunteer training	Plus 4 hours of grief support companioning training
Speakers bureau volunteer	5-hour basic Hospice of Michigan volunteer training	Plus 2 hours of public speaking training
