Fundraisers in Traverse City and Alpena to benefit the not-for-profit’s Open Access Program
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Aug. 26, 2021) – Tickets are on sale for Hospice of Michigan’s fall fundraiser, A Hemingway-Inspired Evening in Paris, Havana, and Northern Michigan. The not-for-profit will host two separate events, one in northwest Michigan and the other on the northeast side of the state. The Traverse City community can enjoy a night to remember filled with food, fun and cocktails on Friday, Sept. 24 at The City Opera House, while those in Alpena can experience the same on Saturday, Sept. 25 at The Besser Museum. Both fundraisers begin at 6 p.m.
The entertaining evenings of storytelling featuring renowned author Philip Greene and Michigan filmmaker Cat Muncey will benefit Hospice of Michigan’s Open Access Program. Greene will take participants at both events on a historical journey through the life of Ernest Hemingway centered around the cocktails that he was so fond of, and which often wove their way into his literary works. Additionally, Muncey will give participants a glimpse of her new documentary detailing her mother’s end-of-life journey supported by Hospice of Michigan. The Alpena event will host mixologists from Mockingbird Cocktails & Bartending.
“The amazing impact of this fundraiser on the lives of our community members is what makes it all worth it,” said Michelle Gallagher, Hospice of Michigan philanthropy manager. “Attendees will enjoy a night filled with fun, entertainment and Hemingway-inspired cocktails knowing that they’re supporting their community, giving back and making a significant impact.”
Traverse City tickets are $200 per person and can be purchased through the Traverse City Opera House. For more information, please contact Michelle Gallagher at mgallagh@HOM.ORG or 231-527-0927.
