Hospice of Michigan Welcomes Andrew Parvel as Philanthropy Manager for Northwest Michigan

Parvel oversees fundraising efforts while cultivating relationships within the community

 

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Oct. 29, 2024) Hospice of Michigan announces Andrew Parvel as philanthropy manager for the northwest region. Parvel is responsible for fundraising efforts for the not-for-profit organization with a focus on cultivating donor relationships with individuals, foundations and local businesses throughout northwest Michigan.

“Andrew hit the ground running and helped secure more than $10,000 in sponsorships for Barley, BBQ & Beats held last month in Traverse City,” said Barbara Anderson, associate vice president of philanthropy for Hospice of Michigan. “With his background, Andrew is the perfect individual to lead our fundraising initiatives in northwest Michigan.”

Prior to joining Hospice of Michigan, Parvel served as director of business development & marketing for the Jenkins Group, Inc., a Traverse City-based independent book publisher. Additionally, he co-founded the charity mountain bike race, Mud, Sweat & Beers. Now in its 15th year, the race has raised over $840,000 for Mt. Holiday Ski & Recreation Area and other northwest Michigan charities.

Parvel, a Traverse City resident, has a Bachelor of Arts in communication from Wayne State University in Detroit.
