Bob Cahill is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the NorthStar Care Community which includes pioneering hospice providers Hospice of Michigan and Arbor Hospice, the Jo Elyn Nyman Anchors Program for Children, NorthStar Palliative Care, and the NorthStar Solutions Group. Established more than 40 years ago, Hospice of Michigan is the largest provider of hospice care in Michigan. Currently serving more than 6,000 patients annually in 50 counties, HOM is also the largest not-for-profit in the state and among the largest recognized 501c not-for-profit advanced illness management organizations in the nation.
As President & CEO of the NorthStar Care Community—anchored by pioneering hospice providers Hospice of Michigan and Arbor Hospice—and the presiding member of the Executive Team, Cahill articulates a strategic forward-thinking vision, expertly guiding all members and programs of the NorthStar Community to meet the mandate of serving Every Person, Every Time.
An industry leader and expert in managing healthcare operations and not-for-profit management, Cahill has a well-rounded background of hands-on experience in finance, operations, sales and marketing in healthcare, managed care, insurance, banking/finance.
Cahill joined Hospice of Michigan in 1998 as Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer. Subsequently promoted to Senior Vice President, he was later named Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer. He assumed his current role as President & CEO in January 2014 and oversaw the launch of the NorthStar Solutions Group.
Cahill earned a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Science degree in Administration from Central Michigan University. In addition, he completed the Executive Program through Harvard Business School.
