Seeking submissions of military uniforms and stories of service
ROCHESTER, Mich. (Sept. 14, 2020) – Hospice of Michigan (HOM) is partnering with Older Persons’ Commission (OPC) and Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital (APR) to celebrate Veterans Week and commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The organizations are seeking submissions of military uniforms and stories of service to be used in a series of Veterans Week events in November. The week’s activities will consist of veterans’ tributes, memorial pinnings, military flag and uniform displays, and a virtual celebration. A detailed list of needs includes:

- Military uniforms to be displayed at APR on Tuesday, Nov. 10
- All items will be returned
- WWII items are preferred, but all uniforms will be considered
- Photos of items for consideration must be submitted by Thursday, Oct. 1 to myveterancelebration@gmail.com
- World War II veteran stories of service and events to be highlighted during the OPC’s veterans virtual celebration on Thursday, Nov. 12
Members of the military and their families are also encouraged to save-the-date for a community tribute and memorial pinning event that HOM will host in the afternoon on Sunday, Nov. 8 at the Veterans Tribute of Oakland Township.
